TripGuy- My Wife and I and our two little ones Bella 3.5 and Scott 2.5 had a fantastic holiday to Beaches Negril in Jamaica it was great in so many ways and a couple of minor glicks. So here goes: Sprit Airlines from Ft Lauderdale to Jamaica was brilliant, nice wide seats and everyone very helpful. On arriving in Montego Bay all of our bags had already been loaded onto a cart and we made our way round to the Beaches welcome room, we all felt very special by the beaches staff and we had only a short wait to get onto our coach to Negril, but long enough for the first cocktail... Coach ride was very smooth, in a modern large minibus allowing us to see the suburbs and country side in the 1hr 20 bus ride. On arrival at Beaches Negril I was impressed by the beautiful layout of the reception area although a little confused by the way you check in. Your put in a beautiful large open reception room and given a fruit punch and then eventually someone comes to take an imprint of your credit card just incase you want any extras before you fill in a arrivals form. In between all of this you get a complimentary sampler back rub to show you what is available, try doing that with 2 kids... However in this reception area our two kids really enjoyed helping themselves to drink, cookies and fruit all at their eye level. It seemed to take for ever to finally be told your room is ready and there was no discussion over type of beds in the room or which floor, it is a this is your room syndrome. The first room we were given had twin beds in it which we thought might work for the kids but on seeing them they were very high off the ground and on a tiled floor and we were worried that if they fell out/off then they could hurt themselves. So I asked to move to a room with a King and a pull out, but we ended up due to no availability with a King and a large single travel bed which turned out to be much better. Rooms were reasonable not as glam as I had expected but with coffee making facilities. A fridge would have been nice but we only found out by chance on the final day that if you want a fridge you just have to request it. The Kids camp which we used every day for about 4 hours was well maintained and professionally run, all the staff were super and all very keen to offer baby sitting either in our room or the nursery at $8 per hour for both kids.
