What a wonderful trip! The rooms were big, beautiful, modern and spacious. Practically all of our Requests were met. The two that weren't were no big thing. We all had adjoining rooms on the third floor overlooking the pool. The facilities are extraordinary, the three beautifully designed pools are fantastic (with snack bars next to each one) and the beach was great.

Maybe, the only "negative" thing is the individual restaurants. The quality is a little sub-pair (lukewarm soup, not good tasting, and the quality mediocre)... so we went a lot to the Buffet, which was always great and had food in abundance. In addition, the staff is very friendly and courteous. They even made for us a beautiful cake for our celebration. The people from Olympus Tours were also fantastic and on time. We also took some additional excursions with them. So we have no complaints at all and we all had a wonderful time.

By the way, according to TripAdivisor.com, the Esmeralda is ranked #4 out of 100 Punta Cana hotels. The one we had once discussed, the Majestic Elegance, has dropped to #11.  Everyone there agrees, however, that the #1 hotel is the Hard Rock Resort (we saw it; it looks awesome)... but it is mainly for young  couples, with Hard Rock Music decor and music.

Well, Jen, we can not express our gratitude enough for all your help and assistance. You not only met, but went "above and beyond" all our expectations. We will keep in touch for all future reservations and are recommending your services to others we come in contact with, including the members of our church.

"We had a wonderful stay at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro at Punta Cana, Dom Rep.  Fayette at TripGuy Travel ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) made all the arrangements which were  flawless  The hotel is only magnificent, particularly the pool area and manicured grounds. 

We had stayed at Iberostar Grand at the Mayan Riviera previously (also arranged thru Trip Guy) which was a larger version of Bavaro.  We believe that the Bavaro offers more personal service, perhaps because it is somewhat smaller, and could not believe the friendliness of the staff.  After only a day or so, thy seem to be catering only to you.  Overall great  experience and  would certainly go back.".

Hi Carol,

We just got back from a 7 night cruise on the Carnival Breeze.  What a beautiful ship.  It is brand new and much different than the Carnival ships we've been on before.  The staff was outstanding especially the cruise director Butch, who we have sailed with before.  We were scheduled to go the Grand Turk, Falmouth Jamaica and Nassau.  Didn't get to Grand Turk due to weather, but they gave us a day at sea with lots of stuff to do.  
Geting on andf off the ship was very easy.  

We have sailed numerous times and must say the shows were the best we have ever seen.  Great singers and dancers as well as terrific special effects.  

You did a great job planning everything and suggesting we go to Miami a day early was a wonderful idea.  Your attention to detail is what keeps us coming back to you. We are looking into Alaska for 2013 so we will be in touch when we know our dates.

We recently returned from the Gran Bahia Principe Ambar, an "Adults Only" resort, in Punta Cana, DR.  This was our second stay here.  It is a beautiful resort with guests from all over the world. The quality of service is unbeatable, including a butler.  The food is great and there is quite a variety.  We especially enjoyed the Don Pablo Restaurant.

Guests can also use facilities at the other hotels that are part of the Grand Bahia Principe complex.  The outdoor vendors at the Bavaro are much less expensive than the hotel shops.  There is also a casino and night club.  Transportation is always provided.

As always, Fayette at TripGuy Travel made all the arrangements so that everything was perfect from beginning to end.


We booked this fabulous hotel through Jennifer at Trip Guy. I was a little hesitant using an online agent, but I had read a few reviews that were positive. I'm really glad that I took the risk! Dealing with her was like working with my best friend. She responded to every question quickly and accurately. If she didn't know the answer, she quickly got it. She had great suggestions and got us a great price. She is warm, friendly and simply a pleasure to work with!

My husband & I absolutely loved this hotel and we have high standards. Iberostar Grand offers everything you could possibly want or need for a restful or active vacation. The machines in the fitness center were great for us. Enjoyed the Pilates class outside & the beachfront zumba (though I participated from the pool while holding a drink - what a way to exercise!). There is plenty to do here or not. Pool basketball, volleyball, ping pong, billiards, dvds to borrow, books & magazines, plently of floats available to use in the pool or ocean. They even put suntan lotion out after 12:00 in case you left yours in the room. There is always a friendly server asking, "You good?" in case you feel like a drink (anything from alcoholic, virgin or bottled water). We loved the shaded "beds" outside around the pool. They are so much more comfortable than they look and cozier than lounging on chairs near each other. Pull the mattress up over the edge of the frame and the angle is perfect for reading or taking a nap.

It was fun to go next door to the Suites (3 Iberostars are next to each other) to enjoy the lazy river and see the much wilder games that the star friends run over there. The suites are more appealing for families. The Grand is perfect for couples! We can go to all three resorts, but they can't come to ours. So you essentially have access to over 12 restaurants if you want.

The staff goes out of their way to help without being pushy. No matter who we ran into, they smiled, offered a friendly word (more than just hi) and seemed very genuine.

Angellie in the PR department was incredibly helpful in every catagory. I loved dealing with her. Natalie is one of the chefs and went above and beyond to help me enjoy the food. I'm a vegan with food allergies and this hotel is overflowing with food that I can not eat, which can be pretty depressing. Nonetheless, I was well taken care of here. Natalie was always available to point out food on the buffet that I could eat or whip something special up for me. She even made me vegan pancakes for breakfast!
We did the beach dinner for our 30th anniversary and it was off the charts romantic. We highly recommend it! (They created a special vegan menu for us.)

One pointer: If you really need a hair dryer, bring your own. It blows cold air (and we got it replaced).

I could go on and on, but there are many other reviews that list everything Iberostar has to offer. My last piece of advice is to go!
