"Hi TripGuy, Yes, we are back and had a great time at the Catalonia in Riveria Maya. We will most likely going back. We were very pleased with the hotel, after they changed our room after the first two nights. Puerto Aventuras is about a 15 min drive south of Playa del Carmen. We rented a car so we had no trouble getting around. The sea view room we had for the last 4 nights was great with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was OK. We finally made it to the specialty restaurant on the last night. We should have booked as soon as we got there for all 3 a la carte restaurants. The Italian one was very good. The beach is maybe not as sandy as some in some areas but we did not find it a problem. I would use the hotel again." Thanks again for all of your help, D.H.
